Full warranty, current Stage V engines, and the spec you actually chose rather than the one that was sat in the yard.
Not sure what generator you need?
That’s our job.
Tell us what you’re powering and we’ll tell you straight which unit does it — whether you buy it, hire it, or buy it used. Weichai, Perkins, Cummins and Honda, from small portables up to 200kVA.
Buy it, hire it, or buy it used
Most suppliers sell you whatever they happen to stock. We’ll tell you which of the three actually fits how long you need power and how often you’ll run it.
Typically 40–60% of new. Load tested through every load step, serviced, and sold with its run hours and test report in writing.
Delivered, commissioned, supported, collected. Scale up or down as the job changes, with nothing tied up in a machine you’ll use twice.
What size do I actually need?
The most expensive mistake in this market. Too small and it won’t start your kit. Too big and you’ll burn fuel and money for years. Four questions, one straight answer.
What are you powering?
What’s the biggest single thing on it?
How long do you need it?
Where is it going to sit?
Answer the four and we’ll size it
This gives you an indicative range, not a quotation. Starting currents vary a lot between machines, so we’ll always confirm against your actual kit before anything is delivered.
Already know the size?
Same stock, three ways in. Browse by output, by what you’re powering, or by whether you want it new, used or on hire.
A used generator is only a bargain if it starts
Run hours get wound back. Service histories go missing. A clean canopy tells you nothing about the alternator. So we publish what most sellers won’t.
- Verified run hours, cross-checked against the service log
- Full load test through every load step, plus a 50% step load
- Engine, alternator, cooling, fuel system and control panel inspection
- The written test report handed over with the machine
- What we replaced, and what we’d keep an eye on
Engines and units we supply, service and stock parts for
Genuine parts held in stock and full product support on everything we supply. New, used or hired.
Understand generators before you spend on one
The things that catch people out, in plain English. If you want any of it explaining properly, call us — we’d rather talk it through than have you buy the wrong machine.
What size generator do I need?
Add up the running load, then work out the starting load. Motors and compressors can pull several times their running figure the moment they kick in. That’s where most people get caught.
kVA or kW, and do I need three phase?
Two numbers, one machine, endless confusion. What the plate is actually telling you, and how to know which supply your kit needs before you order the wrong one.
Hire or buy: the honest answer
It comes down to how long and how often. Short jobs, outages and changing loads favour hire. Permanent standby and repeat work favour owning. Here’s roughly where the line sits.
The used generator checklist
Run hours, service history, cold start, load test, control panel, alternator output, in that order. Plus the three things that should make you walk away from a machine.
Stage V, NRMM and when it applies
On a London construction site it isn’t optional. Plenty of other places it isn’t required at all. We’ll tell you which you are rather than selling you compliance you don’t need.
Noise, fuel burn and where to put it
Decibels at seven metres, litres per hour at load, clearances, fumes, and what the neighbours will tolerate. The practical stuff that decides whether it works on the day.
It starts at handover. It doesn’t end there.
Filters, belts, alternators, AVRs, control panels, batteries. Genuine parts for Weichai, Perkins, Cummins and Honda, held in stock rather than ordered in from three counties away while you’re already down.
- Servicing and scheduled maintenance
- Breakdown callout and fault diagnosis
- Load bank testing and commissioning
- Parts supply, trade and retail
Describe the job. We’ll tell you what you need.
No spec sheet required. Tell us what you’re running, where, and for how long, and we’ll come back with a size, a shortlist, and whether you’re better off hiring it.
Tell us about the job
Takes about a minute. We’ll come back with a size and a shortlist.
We’ll only use your details to answer your enquiry.
